About Me

Linking people with information is the passion that gets me to come to work each day. I love working with beginning researchers, helping them peel back the layers that reveal the creation of knowledge in our culture with the goal of becoming creators of knowledge themselves. I am interested in the politics of information, how information is created and disseminated in scholarly discourse (or not) and in global cultures, and the relationships between intellectual freedom, intellectual property and the commons. I believe that information wants to be free. At Macalester, I teach throughout the library information fluency program.

BA: Studio Art (Humanities minor), Macalester College
Graduate Certificate in Information Systems: University of St. Thomas
Master of Library and Information Studies: University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
